Why aren't the Herbalix Restoratives No Added Fragrance products simply called 'Unscented'? Is there a difference? (Back to top)
Good question! There is a vast difference between the classification
of 'Unscented' and 'No Added Fragrance' where products are concerned. As
such, we carefully named our 'No Added Fragrance' line as we did
because we want to be very clear on this subject. The use of the word
'Unscented' means that the product in question contains a masking
fragrance, (usually always petroleum derived) so that the olfactory
senses can detect NO SMELL to the product whatsoever.
At Herbalix Restoratives it is our primary objective to manufacture
and provide products that are completely free of petroleum-derived and
chemical-based ingredients. Using a masking scent would go against this
objective. Also, these petroleum-based masking scents stress the body in
the same way that other synthetic scents do; triggering many of the
same allergic reactions, ranging from hives to respiratory distress and
headaches. We wish to spare our customers this distress!
In our way of thinking, there is a great difference between wanting
chemical and petroleum-free products, and needing them. We formulate all
of our Herbalix Restoratives products keeping the folks who really need
them in mind. As such, we never fudge on ingredients or cut corners.
We named our 'No Added Fragrance' products as we did because you will
smell the mild, natural aromas that come from our blend of unrefined
base oils; predominantly a very faint smell of beeswax and coconut oil.
Our No Added Fragrance product line is created for those consumers
who prefer clean products with no added or perfumey fragrance.
They are great for folks allergic to scent- and also for those consumers who work in Scent-free zones!
